AMTA Policies and StructuresTo explore AMTA Policies and Structures click here to go to the AMTA National Web Site. Your AMTA AL Chapter has adopted an easy to remember guide to structure our activities and programs on a predictable pattern from year to year. You may expect our Quarterly Chapter meetings all on first Saturdays of February in Montgomery, of May in Birmingham as part of our larger annual meeting and convention, of August in Huntsville, and of November in Mobile. You may also rely on there being valuable opportunities for Continuing Education before and/or after each of our quarterly meetings, and a very comprehensive selection of offerings at our Annual Convention. Our annual calendar structure calls for your initiative to create and participate in regional meetings two weeks prior to each quarterly meeting date which offers you and your neighboring colleague members to gather, discuss, deliberate and bring forth issues and suggestions to the agendas of each quarterly meeting. You may request support from your Chapter Board to enrich and assist you with planning and conducting your regional meetings. Your AL Chapter follows AMTA policies and guidelines in matters of elections to the Chapter Board in that nominees must be Members in a Professional category, and shall have served on and chaired a committee to be eligible for a Board Office. This policy openly seeks your participation in active committee work on behalf of the association and encourages you to step forward to serve as part of the volunteer leadership of your Chapter. While your service to the association is voluntary, when you are serving actively as a committee chair or officer you are reimbursed for travel and expenses like postage and telephone charges related to attending meetings and conducting authorized programs and activities of the Chapter. Serving your Chapter takes a lot of collaborative teamwork and provides lots of fellowship and fun with your professional colleagues. |
